EBU Announces 2016 Rose d’Or Nominees

Awards recognize achievement in international radio, television and online entertainment

The nominees vying for the 2016 Rose d’Or awards have been announced by the EBU. The winners for the radio, television and online entertainment awards will be announced at a ceremony that will be held in Berlin on Sept. 13.

New to the proceedings this year, the shortlisted nominees will share their programs with their peers ahead of the ceremony and then offer their opinion on what deserves to win the awards.

Here are the nominees for the five radio categories:

Comedy: “Charles is a Hell of a King,” CR (Czech Republic); “The Celebrity Voicemail Show,” BBC (U.K.); “Paul Sinha’s History Revision,” BBC (U.K.).

Event of the Year: “European Dawn Chorus,” RTE (Ireland).

Talk Show: “Kvallspasset,” Sveriges Radio (Sweden); “Marja Hintikka Live,” YLE (Finland); “The Museum of Curiosity,” BBC (United Kingdom).

Music Show: “Amazing Grace,” BBC (U.K.); “Le Week-End: The Music of Formula One,” ORF (Austria); “A Very Meery Mooney Tunes,” RTE (Ireland).

Audio Stories: “The Abuse Trial,” Prison Radio Association (U.K.); “An Open Verdict,” RTE (Ireland); “Honey,” RTE (Ireland).
