Edirol Ships V. 1.03 of R-1 Portable Recorder

Edirol Corp., part of the Roland group, has begun shipping version 1.03 of its R-1 portable WAV/MP3 recorder. It will feature it at the NAMM show in Anaheim this month.
The company says the unit is compatible with 4 GB Flash Cards and offers direct storage to Compact Flash memory, 24-bit effect processing and operation from two AA batteries.
It has two electret microphones and external line and mic inputs for stereo capture.The unit contains a 24-bit internal effects processor.
R-1 comes with a 64 MB CF card, which enables maximum recording time of 130 (MP3, 64 kbps mode). A 2 GB CF card provides storage capacity for two hours of 24-bit/44.1 kHz WAV recordings or more than 69 hours of MP3 storage at the highest compression level of 64 kbps.
A USB 2.0 port is offered for transferring files to and from the computer.
