Emmis Offloads St. Louis Stations

Hubbard to take KSHE and KPNT, while KFTK and KNOU go to Entercom

Jeff Smulyan-led Emmis Communications is continuing to reduce its radio station holdings with the planned sale of four St. Louis-area FM stations to two separate buyers.

According to the announcement, rock stations KSHE/94.7 and KPNT/105.7 will go to Hubbard.

News-talk KFTK/97.1 and CHR-formatted KNOU/96.3 join growing industry biggie Entercom.

The terms were not disclosed and approval rests on the FCC’s nod.

Last year Emmis sold off stations in Los Angeles and Terre Haute, Ind. Prior to this newly announced sale, Emmis owns 15 FM and three AM stations in New York, St. Louis, Austin and Indianapolis; it also developed and licenses cloud platform TagStation and developed smartphone app NextRadio.

In its most recent fiscal quarter it reported radio net revenues of $34 million.
