In a bid to attract top sales talent despite the recent downturn, Emmis Communications Corporation recently developed a new plan to develop its sales pool. Its Emmis Sales Assault Plan is a company-wide initiative focused on drawing in and training talented sales professionals in the radio, television and print magazine industries.
To back up its goals, more company resources are being set aside for finding, hiring, training and maintaining top sales talent. Sales managers will receive training in interviewing and candidate-screening techniques, employees will earn bonuses for referring future hires and incentive programs will be boosted.
The company will spread the word across the country with a national advertising campaign through its media outlets and other vehicles in order to attract potential candidates. The company hopes to hire 100 sales professionals in the next few months.
