Ibiquity Digital Corporation hired Steve Densmore as broadcast engineering technology manager, based in Columbia, Md.
Densmore was radio operations manager at ABC Radio for 32 years.
The Ibiquity post was recently vacated by Jeff Detweiler, who’s now its director of the Business Development Group, as we’ve reported.
Densmore will interact with Ibiquity broadcasting partners and development teams to help commercial transitions of HD Radio broadcast products and features.
Densmore traveled as engineer-in-charge for radio pool coverage of several presidential trips, including Ronald Reagan’s trips to China and the Soviet Union, George H. W. Bush’s trip to Moscow, Bill Clinton’s trip to France for the 50th anniversary of the Normandy invasion, and George W. Bush’s trips to China and Korea.
He was engineer-in-charge of ABC Radio’s coverage of the last six political conventions, the last four presidential inaugurations, and the funerals of Presidents Reagan and Ford as well as Pope John Paul II. He was in Qatar and Kuwait for the start of the war in Iraq.
