Hal Kneller has joined the board of the International Association of Audio Information Services.
IAAIS is a nonprofit group representing radio-reading and audio information services. It has become more visible in recent years thanks to industry debates over issues such as low-power FM and IBOC DAB.
Kneller is director of radio engineering for WGCU(FM)/WMKO at Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, Fla., where he is responsible for engineering for the NPR/classical music FM station, the radio reading service, two transmitter sites and a computer network.
He also is president and principle owner of Heartland Broadcasting Corp., licensee of three stations in Zolfo Springs, Fla.
