Entercom Announces SVP of Programming for WBMP

Also names new midday host at WBMP and new PD for KSWD

Entercom has tapped Mike Kaplan as senior vice president of programming and program director of WBMP(FM) in New York. Also at WBMP, Christine Malovetz has been named weekday midday host. Across the country, Entercom named Smokey Rivers as program director for KSWD(FM) in Seattle.

Kaplan joins Entercom from iHeartMedia, where he was program director for KYSR(FM) in Los Angeles. Prior to that, Kaplan was PD for Entercom’s alternative station KNDD(FM) in Seattle and KRBZ(FM) in Kansas City.

Malovetz was most recently host of middays and assistant PD for KNOU(FM) in St. Louis. Prior to KNOU(FM), she was at WKQX(FM) in Chicago, WPLY(FM) in Philadelphia, and WBTZ(FM) in Burlington, Vt., where she was known as “Electra.”

Rivers was previously director of operations and PD for KMXZ(FM) in Tucson. Prior to joining Entercom, Rivers was VP of programming at iHeartMedia in Phoenix and VP of adult contemporary stations for CBS Radio.
