Entercom Makes Changes in Charlotte and Rochester

De Amicis and Gross join the company, extend contract for Thompson

Michael Gross

Entercom Charlotte says Michael De Amicis has joined the cluster as the director of sales for WBT(AM/FM), WLNK(FM) and WFNZ(AM/FM). Additionally, Entercom Charlotte also extended the contract of morning host Bo Thompson on WBT, and Entercom Rochester has added Michael “Mud” Gross as program director of Rochester’s WCMF(FM), effective May 15.

De Amicis previously served as the general sales manager for Radio One in Atlanta, and at Entercom Charlotte, he will assume the responsibilities of maintaining and building a sales operation driven through broadcast, digital, event sponsorships and experiential marketing.

Thompson began his career at WBT in 1990, named WBT’s morning host in 2012. He is a Charlotte native. He is host of “Charlotte’s Morning News” weekdays from 5–9 a.m.

Gross takes over the day-to-day operations as PD of Rochester’s WCMF and will be heard on air in afternoon drive, weekdays from 3–7 p.m. He replaces Chris Crowley, who was promoted to KGON/Portland. Gross comes to Rochester by way of Boca Raton, Fla. where he spent 12 years as PD at iHeartMedia’a WBGG(FM) Miami and WNRQ in Nashville, Tenn. Previously, he was PD at WARO(FM) in Fort Meyers/Naples and did mornings in WDIZ(FM), Orlando, WPNT(FM), St. Louis and WHVY(FM), Baltimore.
