Entercom has named Ivy Savoy-Smith as vice president and director of sales for the Washington cluster. The broadcaster also tapped Dana Taylor as program director for WOMX(FM); John O’Connell as program director for WQMP(FM) in Orlando, Fla.; and also Melissa “Mel” Leigh-Sorrentino was announced as assistant PD for WQMP in Daytona Beach-Orlando, Fla.
Now, Savoy-Smith will oversee sales efforts for WJFK(AM/FM), WIAD(FM), WPGC(FM/HD3) and WLZL(FM).
She previously was director of local sales for WPGC and WLZL. Since 2002, Savoy-Smith has held multiple roles with WPGC, including account executive, retail sales manager, NTR manager, local sales manager and general sales manager for the station. Prior to joining the station, she served as regional account executive for Clear Channel Communications in Washington.
Dana Taylor joined WOMX in 1994 and was most recently assistant program director. She has also served as the station’s music director and has held on-air roles in the station’s overnight, evening, midday and morning drives. Prior to joining Entercom, Taylor was music director for WFSY in Panama City, Fla.
John O’Connell’s new role with WQMP is in addition to his program director roles with WKIS(FM) and WSFS(FM) in Miami. He also served as PD for WMXJ(FM) from 2016–2018. Prior to joining Entercom, O’Connell held programming roles for CBS Radio in Tampa, Fla.
Melissa Leigh-Sorrentino’s new position will be in addition to her current roles of music director and midday host. She can be heard weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
