Entercom to Convert Portland, Denver Stations

Portland is getting its first HD Radio stations.
Entercom Communications Corp. has signed licenses to implement Ibiquity Digital’s HD Radio technology at its five FM stations in Portland, Ore. and its three FM stations in Denver, Colo. The stations are KGON (92.3), KKSN (97.1), KNRK (94.7), KRSK (105.1) and KWJJ (99.5) in Portland and KALC (105.9), KQMT (99.5) and KOSI (101.1) in Denver.
With the addition of these eight stations, Entercom has licensed 15 stations to use HD Radio technology. These are the first stations in Portland to license HD Radio technology, the companies said.
Entercom President/CEO David Field stated, “Denver and Portland are natural choices for the next phase of our HD Radio roll-out as they are high tech markets where we have a strong presence. Entercom looks forward to working with retailers like Car Toys and Ultimate to promote HD Radio in these markets.”
Entercom owns stations in 19 markets including Boston, Seattle, Denver, Portland, Sacramento, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Norfolk, New Orleans, Memphis, Buffalo, Greensboro, Rochester, Greenville/Spartanburg, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Wichita, Madison, Gainesville/Ocala and Longview/Kelso, Wash.
