Erickson Wins Contract for Two-Studio Package

Army will use it in Afghanistan

Erickson Broadcast Sales Corp. said it won a contract from the U.S. Army to provide a turnkey, two-studio radio station to be shipped to Afghanistan.

The 500 watt FM station will be prewired as a “plug and play” package with instructions and photos for reassembly; it will then be shipped to Bermal, Afghanistan.

Mirrored studios will use Graham Studios “Radio Desks” with Arrakis ARC 10 consoles and Acoustics First Pyramid Sound Treatment. A Titan 96 foot tower is being shipped for assembly on-site and an Inovonics David III FM processor with a NiCom NT500 FM Transmitter will be used.

CEO/Sales Engineer Ron Erickson said the firm built a single-studio, prewired 500 watt station package that was shipped to a private customer on Malta last year.

The company sells equipment and provides on-site engineering and installation services. In other projects it is working on a two-studio build in San Francisco and new studio installations in Death Valley and Victorville, Calif.
