Eritrean Station Receives Arrakis Gear

United Nations supports new radio studios in Africa

The United Nations Development Programme in Eritrea chose Arrakis Systems consoles, furniture and automation in a major rebuild for state-run Voice of the Broad Masses of Eritrea (VOBME).

“This upgrade included two on-air studios with Arrakis MARC-15 consoles, Accent furniture and Digilink-Xtreme automation plus 10 support studios with Arrakis ARC-8 consoles and Digilink-Xtreme Live Assist workstations,” the manufacturer said.

Systems integration was done in Hong Kong and the equipment now has been shipped to the Eritrean studios.

“This project was a major step for modernizing their station and has been a focus in developing that region of Africa,” Arrakis stated.

Arrakis Systems said it has a “significant presence” throughout Africa and has recently sold automation and consoles to Nigeria, Uganda, Nairobi and others.
