CBS biggie WFAN(AM) named Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton as hosts of its morning show, after much speculation about who would replace Don Imus in that slot.
Esiason is a former NFL quarterback and CBS Sports broadcaster. Carton was host of “the nation’s most listened to afternoon FM talk radio program.”
They begin Tuesday, Sept. 4. Esiason is a native New Yorker.
Chuck Bortnick is VP/GM of WFAN; Mark Chernoff is VP of programming/operations manager. Esiason will continue to call games for Westwood One’s “Monday Night Football” and NFL playoff and Super Bowl radio broadcasts.
Carton most recently was at WKXW(FM) hosting “The Jersey Guys” broadcast in afternoon drive.
