Europe Hears Update on DRM

Europe Hears Update on DRM

Digital radio is in the news abroad as well as here at home.
At the European Digital Radio Conference in Munich this week, broadcast industry participants from Germany, France and Croatia will represent Digital Radio Mondiale. During conference sessions, the progress of the on-air system will be shown and the future of DRM discussed.
DRM is a nonproprietary digital system for shortwave, medium-wave/AM and long-wave. DRM uses existing frequencies and bandwidth. Proponents tout its near-FM quality sound as a big improvement over analog AM and say that DRM will revitalize AM broadcasting bands below 30 MHz in global markets.
