The European Investment Bank, has agreed to provide £190 million to support Arqiva’s investment in national infrastructure projects, including smart metering, the expansion of digital radio and the rollout of the new T2 muxes, according to Invest in EU.
“The European Investment Bank recognizes the diverse benefits of investment by Arqiva in the latest transmission equipment that will help reduce energy bills through national use of smart meters and enable dedicated communications for specialist user,” said European Investment Bank Vice President Jonathan Taylor.
During the past five years, the EIB has provided €2 billion in long-term loans to support investment in communications infrastructure.
