Although final certification is still to come from the Guinness Book of World Records, the multiplatinum band Fall Out Boy is claiming victory in its bid to set the world record for the most radio interviews in a 24-hour period by a duo.
Bassist Pete Wentz and vocalist/guitarist Patrick Vaughn Stump conducted interviews with 72 stations from Premiere Studios in Los Angeles on Oct. 31 starting at 3 a.m. local time. The previous record was interviews with 54 stations.
In May 2008, Alistair Galpin teamed up with John Stansfield of the New Zealand Problem Gambling Foundation to break the record, conducting interviews with 62 stations.
