The Radio Advertising Bureau hired a well-known radio industry executive and simultaneously announced a consolidation of several functions.
RAB is bringing Erica Farber on board as executive VP, effective in January; it also consolidated its Membership, Professional Development and Services units into a group that she will head. Farber will report to President/CEO Jeff Haley.
She was CEO of a radio consulting and Internet service provider that she founded in 2010 but is familiar to many in radio for her 15 years at Radio & Records, where she eventually rose to CEO. She worked before that at Interep and radio stations in Los Angeles, Boston and New York.
Leaving RAB is Sheila Kirby, who was SVP of professional development but now joins CBS Radio as SVP of Sales Training and Development. RAB said in that role Kirby “will continue a closely aligned relationship with the RAB.” Kirby’s post is newly created. She’ll be based in Chicago, CBS said in an announcement.
And RAB said EVP of Membership Ron Ruth will shift to a consulting role.
