The New York Times is quoting experts who believe XM Satellite Radio may succeed now that it’s reached half a million subscribers.
XM itself is predicting it will reach the break-even point late next year. Subscription-based entertainment consultant Jimmy Schaeffler tells the Times that 2003 is “the year that satellite radio answers the question of whether or not it will be successful, and the likelihood the answer will be ‘yes’ is very high.”
