FCC Budget Proposed

FCC Budget Proposed

The President has submitted a budget to Congress that proposes fiscal year 2002 funding for the FCC of $248,545,000 and a proposed staffing level of 1,975 full-time employees. This budget represents an increase of $18,545,000 over the FY 2001 appropriation level of $230,000,000.
Nearly 40% of the requested increase will cover mandatory salary and benefits increases and inflationary increases for contract services. The balance of the increase request would go towards replacing outmoded computer equipment and maintaining electronic filing systems.
