It’s not every day you get a $10,000 reprieve. It happened to Robert Taylor when the FCC cancelled a $10,000 penalty issued in 2003 because the agency said he apparently failed to repaint a tower in Fort Wayne, Ind. as often as necessary to maintain good visibility.
Taylor argued that he painted the tower before receiving the notice and submitted documentation to that effect. He later filed an application for a change in ownership of the tower and for FM stations WXKE ad WYLT. The FCC granted the application; he sold the stations and the tower to Travis Broadcasting and is no longer a commission licensee.
