FCC Disaster Plans for IT Advance

How is the FCC doing at developing a recovery plan to continue its operations in the event of a disaster?
Its inspector general, H. Walker Feaster III, tells Congress that the FCC made “considerable progress” in its program in 2004, after starting an intensive effort to develop such a plan two years earlier.
“The chief information officer and his staff have developed a comprehensive (disaster recovery plan) to support the recovery of IT systems if an incident disrupts service,” Feaster wrote.
But the plan is not entirely complete, he found. “The DRP needs to include how the FCC will handle major applications in an emergency and must also document how the major applications will be handled in a disaster.”
