FCC Fines Pirate $10k

Case concerns unauthorized operation on 91.3 MHz in Orlando

The Federal Communications Commission issued a $10,000 fine against Balthazard Senat for operating a radio station without a license.

The commission said in its notice the violations concerned unauthorized operation of a station on 91.3 MHz in Orlando, Fla. The agency actually issued an initial fine in March. Since Senat didn’t reply to the notice, that’s now progressed to a Forfeiture Order.

Senat has 30 days to pay or the case may be referred to the Justice Department for collection.
