Some 500 low-power applications have been okayed by the commission for a construction permit.
That’s according to Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth in its CommLawBlog.
“Word is that nearly 900 more singletons have been identified and are awaiting processing,” notes the law firm.
Indeed, more than 50 CPs were issued on Jan. 29 alone, starting with one in Moscow, Ohio, awarded to Radio Free Moscow, (page 46) to a CP in Mt. Vernon, Texas awarded to Mount Vernon Broadcasting (page 67).
FHH speculates the Audio Division could finish issuing CPs sometime this spring.
Petitions to deny must be filed within 30 days.
