FCC IBOC Endorsement May be Soon

It looks like the FCC may initially endorse IBOC this week as the technology for America’s terrestrial stations to go digital. The commission has a First Report and Order concerning how terrestrial radio will go digital on its agenda for this Thursday’s meeting. The agency is expected to endorse the technology, and approve a way for stations that want to begin transmitting a digital signal, to do so this year, before final rules are approved.
