With lightning-fast speed, the FCC’s Media Bureau has been processing applications for low-power FM stations.
Of the some 2,800 applications received, entities in more than 400 groups are vying for the same frequencies.
Previously, the agency identified frequencies for which there are no competing applications, now, the bureau has released a list of applications for which more than one entity is competing for the same frequency and it has opened a 60-day settlement period.
The bureau says it will provide expedited processing for all amendments, settlement requests and time-share agreements filed during the next 60 days to resolve technical conflicts.
