FCC: Penalty Stands in Florida Case

The FCC affirmed a $7,000 fine against WCVC(AM), Tallahassee, Fla., for not having a secure, locked fence around its tower.
The station had admitted that part of its fence was down during an inspection in 2002, but said it did not violate the law on purpose. WCVC also said it could not pay the fine and submitted financial information to back support its claim.
The commission said the information did not support the financial hardship claim.
