FCC Releases 2011 Regulatory Fee Figures

Most are same as proposed in May

The FCC intends to raise a congressionally-required across-the-board 4.7% raise in regulatory fees for FY 2011.

The agency will raise a total of $335,794,000 in FY 2011 fees from all the industries it regulates.

For radio, the amounts for regulatory fees proposed in May still hold. Based on a Report and Order released July 22, AM CP holders would pay $490 and FM CP holders would pay $675.

FM Classes A, B1 and C3 would pay $675 for stations serving a population of 25,000 or less, up to $9,450 for those stations serving a population of 3 million or more. FM Classes B, C, C0, C1 and C2 would owe $850 to $11,050 depending on populations served while Class A AMs would owe $700 to $8,400.

The commission plans to open a regulatory fee payment window in September.
