The FCC has denied a request to withdraw all EEO audit letters mailed to stations. The agency also will not delay further mailings as it considers pending requests to reconsider the EEO rules.
Media Bureau Chief Ken Ferree stated in a reply to several attorneys that the EEO rules have been in effect for more than a year, so the audits are not premature and there is no basis to delay them. He also states in the letter that the audits are within the scope of the EEO rules.
