Federal News Radio Program Focuses on Females

Hubbard station begins weekly interview series

FederalNewsRadio.com and WFED(AM) have launched “Women of Washington,” a new female-focused weekly interview series.

“Women of Washington” will feature some of Washington’s influential female executives. The program is hosted by Aileen Black and Gigi Schumm.

Black and Schumm are both founding partners of Accelerated Government Strategies Group, a consultant group for startups.

Black was previously vice president and general manager of the public sector for VMware, and Schumm was vice president and VP/GM of the public sector of Symantec. Both women are IT industry executives who understand the procurement, contracting, sales, marketing and political landscape of the public sector, a release says.

Some of the women who will be featured are former GSA administrator Martha Johnson, former chief information officer for NASA Linda Cureton, former Department of Defense CIO Teri Takai and Deep Water Point partner Jill Singer.

The show will air Wednesdays at 9 a.m. on Federal News Radio and will be archived online. The first show will air June 4.

Federal News Radio and its sister station WTOP are owned and operated by Hubbard Radio.
