More details are coming out about the tower climber who died in Florida earlier this week.
Sixty-one-year-old Nick Rouskey was dead when Bonita Springs, Fla. firefighters reached him near the top of a 750-foot radio tower, according to WZVN-HD television in Fort Myers, Fla.
Rouskey was the president and director of Broadcast Services Tower & Antenna Inc., according to state records. He was changing light bulbs on top of the tower Monday when he died, reported the station.
Bonita Springs Firefighter Greg Dewitt and a team of five men recovered Rouskey’s body.
“You’re sitting up on a tower swaying a foot each way. It’s nerve-wracking, but you’ve got a job to do,” Dewitt told WZVN.
It took four hours to bring him down, according to the account.
Rouskey’s death remains under investigation.
