First Director For PPW Hired

The Partnership for Public Warning, a public-private organization for emergency preparedness has its first executive director. Kenneth Allen has served as EVP/CEO of the National Newspaper Association. Before that, Allen was President/SVP of the
Information Industry Association.
PPW recently released a study that calls for the federal government – specifically the new Department of Homeland Security – to take responsibility for leading the development of a “national all-hazard public warning architecture in partnership with other federal agencies, state and local governments, industry, universities and other stakeholders.”
