HHB said Clear Channel Communications in Asheville, N.C., is using the FlashMic.
The supplier said the staff had been using DAT and MiniDisc recorders for location sound but added a FlashMic after the product’s recent price reduction.
The FlashMic comprises a Sennheiser omni or cardioid mic capsule, a digital recorder and 1 GB Flash memory. Separate files for interviews, pieces and takes can be uploaded via a USB connection to a PC or Mac.
Ken Ray is engineer for the cluster, which has six stations and various formats. HHB said three Clear Channel Asheville employees have purchased their own FlashMics.
