Fletcher Heald & Hildreth Adds Four

David M. Janet, Davina S. Sashkin, Tony Lee and Cheng-yi Liu have joined firm as members

Fletcher Heald & Hildreth says the communications and technology law firm has added David M. Janet, Davina S. Sashkin, Tony Lee and Cheng-yi Liu as members.

Janet has more than two decades of practice experience in a variety of technology transactions and communications-related areas. He has represented companies of all sizes in the software, data mining, digital media, government contracting, Internet content provider, wireless application services, medical device distribution, and intra-operative monitoring industries and market spaces. He received his law degree, with high honors, from Duke University School of Law, and he received a B.A. in economics from the College of William and Mary.

Sashkin specializes in broadcast media regulation, telecommunications policy matters and communications industry transactions. She has particular expertise in broadcast television and radio station licensing, compliance and transactional matters. She is active in the Federal Communications Bar Association and is a speaker to industry groups and trade associations. Sashkin is a graduate of the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, where she earned a certificate in communications law studies and served as editor-in-chief of the Commlaw Conspectus: Journal of Communications Law & Policy. She holds a Master of Arts in Communication, Culture & Technology from Georgetown University and a bachelor of arts from George Washington University.

Lee has focused on representing wireline and wireless telecommunications carriers, cable TV and Internet companies in regulatory issues and proceedings before the FCC and state utility commissions. Lee has advised local exchange and long distance carriers regarding state and federal regulatory issues, including intercarrier compensation, universal service and compliance matters. He has engaged in litigation in federal court, and before the FCC and state commissions. He has also engaged in high technology transactions and other corporate matters for his clients, which includes the purchase and transfer of high technology assets, and master services agreements for the provision of telecommunications service. Lee earned his J.D. from The American University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland.

Liu has advised clients on a broad spectrum of telecommunications legal and regulatory matters. He has worked with companies involved in all aspects of the communications industry, including traditional wireline carriers, fixed wireless services, mobile phone companies, as well as VoIP, Internet and cloud-based service providers. Liu is a graduate of the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University — Bloomington, and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is licensed to practice law in Virginia, Indiana and the District of Columbia.
