Hurricane Katrina has affected the FCC’s upcoming auction of FM CPs. Auction 62 has been delayed until January to provide additional time for bidder preparation and planning in the aftermath of the hurricane.
The auction of 171 FM broadcast construction permits was initially slated to begin
on Nov. 1. That has been rescheduled to begin on Jan. 12, 2006. Upfront payments are now due Dec. 2.
The commission hopes to announce the status of applications approximately two weeks before the rescheduled upfront payment deadline. All other previously announced auction procedures and requirements remain the same.
