During an NAB Show session devoted to radio topics pending at the FCC, Alan Stillwell, deputy chief of the Office of Engineering and Technology, was asked about the status of the proposed FM IBOC power increase.

“The short answer is that it’s still cooking,” he said, noting that NPR Labs plans further tests.

“It’s something we have to be careful about,” said Stillwell. The commission has to be sure that allowing stations to increase their digital power doesn’t negatively impact the analog signal of their neighbors, he said.
