Ford, VW, Scion Factory-Installed HD Radios Are Featured

In calendar 2010, OEM commitments to HD Radio Technology will total 15 automotive brands across more than 80 vehicle types, 36 of which will include HD Radio Technology standard, according to iBiquity Digital.

Brands include Audi, BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Mercury, Mini USA, Rolls Royce, Scion, Volkswagen and Volvo.

Three new vehicles are on display at the iBiquity booth in the Central Hall here in Vegas, featuring factory-installed HD Radio Technology. They are a Ford 2011 Taurus SHO, Volkswagen 2010 MY Golf TDI and 2010 Scion xB.

Ford is showcasing what it and iBiquity say is the first factory installed implementation of HD Radio-enabled iTunes Tagging in its Tech Booth in the North Hall of the LVCC.

Automotive aftermarket receiver manufacturers JVC, Kenwood and Sony are new integrated auto aftermarket HD radios, including the first aftermarket integrated in-dash radio with Real Time Traffic, the JVC KD-NT3HDT, and the first portable navigation device with HD Radio Technology and Real Time Traffic, the Cydle T43H.
