Former Station Owner Wins Waiver of Fine

The FCC Enforcement Bureau has canceled a $20,000 fine against the former owner of a Virginia station.
The commission said Grass Roots Broadcasting has sold WAMM in Woodstock, Va., at a loss. The company has no assets. The rule violations — involving tower paint and registration, and maintaining a main studio — have since been corrected.
The violations involved Grass Roots’ failure to register and paint its antenna structure and to maintain a main studio.
