Former Susquehanna Stations Are Done With Interep; Cumulus Says No Hard Feelings

Interep announced the discontinuation of national representation for radio stations owned by Cumulus Media Partners. The stations were bought from Susquehanna this year.
Mike Walsh of Cumulus Major Market Sales was quoted in an Interep statement saying Cumulus’ decision to move its stations was not based on performance, “but rather on its desire to have all of its stations under one rep firm.” Cumulus works with Katz.
In the announcement, Ralph Guild, Interep chairman/CEO, stated, “Radio has been in a period of steady decline for years, with the exception of a slight political bump this fall, because there seems to be a belief that it is possible to cut costs and grow our industry simultaneously. This belief exists despite the fact that evidence seems to prove it contradictory.”
