Some 10 broadcasters in France want to go digital with the Eureka-147 DAB technology. France has set up an organization aimed at raising the profile and encouraging the rollout of DAB. The group plans to promote DAB to government officials, broadcasters, manufacturers and consumers.
This occurs as the French government has established a DAB task force under the auspices of the Arts and Communications Minister to determine the feasibility of French radio going digital.
Two Web sites are being set up to help trade members and the French public learn more about DAB: www.radionumerique.org and www.radionumerique.info.
