French Radio Gets New Online Listening Metric

Médiamétrie and Médiamétrie-eStat, working with broadcast groups, have developed a new benchmark for tracking Web-based radio listening

Starting in September, French radio stations will have some new metrics for online listening.

Médiamétrie and Médiamétrie-eStat, working with broadcast groups Lagardère, NextRadioTV, NRJ, Radio France, RFI and RTL, as well as the Syndicat des Radios On-Line (SYROL) webcasting association, have developed a new benchmark for tracking Web-based radio listening.

The new metric allows for comprehensive, accurate monitoring of the number of times a podcast is downloaded, as well as the number of sessions and hours spent listening to streaming radio and on-demand radio content.

The first results will be published in October, providing measurements of podcasts, on-demand listening and live streaming divided by type of broadcast, by group and by station.
