They say they do things bigger in Texas …
How about having a whole metropolitan area join in a nearly-spur-of-the-moment celebration?
On Friday, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the self-styled “Metroplex,” will be celebrating Kidd Kraddick, the Dallas-based nationally-syndicated host that passed away last weekend at his charity golf tournament.
Sound far-fetched? According to a release, the North Central Texas cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Allen, Flower Mound, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, North Richland Hills, Addison, Coppell, Denton, Mansfield, Southlake, Plano, Frisco, Grand Prairie, McKinney, Carrollton, Weatherford, Richardson, Irving, Garland and Mesquite are designating Aug. 2, as Kidd Kraddick Kidd’s Kids Day.
A local business, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will be taking donations for Kraddick’s beloved Kidd’s Kids charity. Donations can be made online at his home radio station, Clear Channel’s www.1061kissfm.com, or by texting “KIDD” to 52000 or calling (214) 866-8106. The specialty of the charity is sending chronically ill or physically-challenged children to Disney World.
