Fritt’s Father Passes Away at 94

He once owned stations in Paducah and Murray, Ky.

Funeral services for Edward Brent Fritts, father of former NAB President/CEO Eddie Fritts, are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 in Paducah, Ky.

Fritts the elder, a long-time station owner, passed away earlier in the week at the age of 94. No cause of death was reported.

He owned WPAD(AM)and WDDJ(FM) from 1967 until 1984. He was also an owner and partner of WNBS(AM) in Murray, Ky. after 1984.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Alma Ruth (McLaughlin) Shulman Fritts; his son, the former NAB head Edward Owens Fritts and his wife, Martha Dale, of McLean, Va.; as well as two step-sons, one step-daughter and several grand- and great-grandchildren.

His first wife, Ruth Owens Fritts, preceded him in death.
