Furman Promotes Rose to VP, Operations

Furman Sound promoted Steve Rose to vice president of product development. He had been vice president of operations since late 1999.
In his new position, Rose will institute new marketing analysis and plans, develop and source new products and gather market intelligence. He also will work closely with Joe Desmond, Furman’s vice president of sales and marketing, and Sales Engineer Garth Powell in developing the company’s consumer product line.
Desmond credits Rose with helping the company to improve its operating procedures through better stocking levels and an accurate computer order entry system.
Prior to joining Furman, Rose worked at Oregon-based Musician’s Friend as a senior product manager for catalog and Internet sales, and at California-based consumer electronics catalog retailer DAK Electronic as purchasing manager.
