GatesAir Taps Belza as CFO

He’ll also oversee HR and IT functions for the company

GatesAir has named John Belza as chief financial officer. This is a newly created position for the broadcast manufacturer.

Belza will report to CEO Bruce Swail and will be based in the company’s Mason, Ohio, corporate offices.

He will oversee the company’s finance functions and develop new processes and initiatives to drive operational efficiencies. Belza will focus on improving the company’s “profitability and cash flow to drive shareholder value,” according to the announcement. Over the next few years, he aims to “optimize the profitability of GatesAir’s Spectrum Repack program for over-the-air TV stations.”

Additionally, he will also manage GatesAir’s human resources and information technology divisions.

Belza most recently served as CFO forprivate equity-held medical equipment distribution company Lombart Instrument. He has also previously held that role for Cambridge International and Carat Security Group. He has also held senior finance roles at General Electric’s appliances and aircraft engines businesses and spent seven years in “Big Four” public accounting.
