Genelec has launched its smallest ever loudspeaker system, designed for close-proximity listening applications.
The 6010A is a compact two-way active system that contains drivers, power amplifiers, active crossover filters and protection circuitry. Since the amplifiers are integrated into the loudspeaker enclosure, the only connections required are mains supply and line level input signal.
The 6010A features the Genelec all-aluminum Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) and advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technologies. Bass response extends down to 73 Hz while a new rear reflex port design ensures very low distortion.
An RCA line level input connector facilitates connection to a preamplifier, PC soundcard or portable MP3 player.
Active crossover controls allow exact matching of the 6010A to any application. The bass and treble amplifiers each produce 12 W output power.
To complement the 6010A, Genelec has introduced the 5040A, a compact active subwoofer for use with up to five Genelec 6010As; the 5040A extends the bass response of the system down from 73 Hz to 35 Hz.
A remote volume control provided with the 5040A subwoofer controls the playback level for the whole system.
