George Is New Exec Editor for LPM

Will set the news agenda, as well as plan and oversee editorial strategies and production

Stephen George will fill the newly created position of executive editor for Louisville Public Media.

Beginning Aug. 3, he will direct content across all of the organization’s platforms, including radio, Web and social media. According to LPM President and General Manager Donovan Reynolds, the new executive editor will set the news agenda, as well as plan and oversee editorial strategies and production.

“With his deep ties to the community, and is extensive experience in print and digital journalism, we believe that Stephen George is the ideal person to take on this important job,” said Reynolds.

George is currently news editor at Insider Louisville and previously worked as editor of Leo Weekly and Nashville City Paper. He also served as communications director for U. S. Rep. John Yarmuth.

Louisville Public Media is an independent, community supported not-for-profit corporation serving the Louisville metropolitan area with three public radio stations and an investigative unit: WFPL(FM), WUOL(AM), WFPK(FM) and the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting.
