Joan Gerberding, president of Nassau Media Partners and immediate past president of American Women in Radio and Television joined the Steering Committee for the Museum of Television and Radio’s initiative, “On the Air: A Celebration of Women’s Achievements in Television and Radio.” The committee will be developing a strategy for the MTR to launch a collection highlighting women’s contributions to the broadcasting industry, and ideas for public programs and events.
Gerberding was recently appointed to the FCC Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Digital Age, which advises the FCC on policies and practices to increase diversity in the broadcasting industry. She was also named Broadcaster of the Year in 2002.
