Germany’s digital radio network has grown, with service provider Media Broadcast announcing it added additional transmitter sites across the country.
Installed at the end of June, the focus of these new transmitters was to bring digital radio to Pfaffenberg and Bamberg/Geisberg sites in Bavaria and Brandenburg (Pritzwalk) to increase regional and motorway coverage.
By the end of 2016, the spread of transmitter sites over the Bundesmux region will hit 110, Media Broadcast said in a statement. This will provide an estimated coverage of 80 percent of homes, while also covering 95 percent of mobile receivers and 97 percent of motorways.
Media Broadcast has also announced that it will install the Sylt antenna on the regional DAB multiplex in Hamburg.
