Global Traffic Network is supplying traffic and travel reports to English commercial radio group UKRD.
“This is a significant step in Global Traffic Network’s expansion in the United Kingdom. UKRD have great stations and our airborne reports will enhance the traffic service to some of the country’s most loyal radio listeners,” said Global Traffic Network UK Managing Director Paul Hutton.
As part of the three-year deal, UKRD listeners in Cornwall and Guildford will receive traffic updates from U.K.-based Global Traffic Network spotter planes.
“Our portfolio of stations has always delivered good traffic and travel information but the deal with Global Traffic Network enables us to achieve a pretty substantial improvement in what we can broadcast to our listeners,” said UKRD Chief Executive William Rogers.
Global Traffic Network Inc. provides customized traffic reports to affiliated radio and television stations through its subsidiaries in Europe, Australia and Canada in exchange for commercial airtime inventory.
