ND SatCom recently delivered the 50th satellite newsgathering vehicles to broadcast services provider GlobeCast.
Most of these vehicles have been operated by French radio and TV stations for live news and sports events, but a recently integrated compactSNG is the first vehicle in the GlobeCast Italia SNG network operated by remote-control via database.
The compactSNG systems combine a GlobeCast workflow database with the ND SatCom Automatic Pointing System (APS) to allow for more cost-efficient newsgathering and reporting. The system allows news reporters and sports journalists to operate the SNG vehicle without any specialist support, helping to produce personnel cost savings and allowing journalists to focus on their editorial work.
